Creative Cuts & More Matchbox ~

For my fourth project as a guest designer at Creative Cuts & More, I chose to alter the matchbox. The matchbox comes in a variety of colors & textures, including metallic cardstock. One can easily find the perfect color to match your party theme!! You can see the matchbox #01 here.

I wanted my first box to be simple, yet classy. Using the metallic cs gave me the classy I was going for. For the simple, I used my computer to type "Kate & Tim", printed on white bazzill, then mounted on metallic cs and pop dotted to the matchbox. So simple and quick too! Wouldn't these make pretty engagement party or wedding reception favors?

My second box is covered with gcd studios pp & trimmed w/bazzill cs. Some ribbon, buttons and chocolate candy complete the cute, versatile matchbox. :)

I hope you've enjoyed my CC&More project.

Creative Cuts & More Blog Hop!

Hello Blog Hoppers! Isn't Pat's project great? I'm so glad you stopped by today!

If you arrived here and didn't know about the blog hop, make sure to hop over to Die Cut Diva Blog. This is where the fun begins!

Today we are celebrating the launch of Creative Cuts and More’s brand NEW website!

I'm excited to share my project! These bell boxes make the most sweet children's party favors! Fill them with candy and small toys and what child would not be thrilled to receive one?

I chose to only decorate one side of the bell box. After I decided on a design, they came together easily and quickly. I cut the patterned paper piece and decorated before adhering to the box.

The paper swirls are simple to do! Just cut a strip of 12" cardstock. Using a pen or pencil, tightly wrap the paper strip around the pen. I sprayed mine with some glimmer mist for some sparkle, then I glued them down. So easy!

I think these party favors would be fun for children to help assemble too. I can just see a table set with a dozen of these bell boxes decorated as party favors with candy & confetti & balloons....so much fun!! :)

Citrus Tree Studios May Challenge!

My challenge this month at Citrus Tree Studio is the Inspiration Challenge.

The "Delightful Things" May kit @CTS includes some small red wooden clothes pins.

When I saw the above image in this Vera Bradley catalog, I immediately thought of my red clothes pins! Then I noticed the title "colorful and sweet to hang around"...and knew that I would use these photos of my nieces, Sky & Elly for my challenge lo. :)

"sweet & fun to hang around"

{Products ~ Bazzill kraft cs, Bazzill scalloped edge cs, AC thickers, PP letter stickers, Jenni Bowlin felt hearts, Creative Cafe velvet trim, Offray red ribbon, red wooden clothes pins (May CT kit!), Jillibean Soup sticker, MM sticker & machine zig zag stitching.}

I think the above catalog advertisement holds a ton of inspiration! The design, colors, clothes line, birds, patterns, so many possibilities! Hope you'll have fun with the challenges at CTS this month. As always, Cindy has put up a fab prize - a Basic Grey 'Cappella' 6x6 Paper Pad!! Come check it out!

thanks for stopping by,

Creative Cuts & More project two ~

For my second Creative Cuts & More project, I chose to alter the Elegant Window Square Box #01. For the see-through open top of the box, I recycled some scrapbooking packaging acrylic and glued to the inside of the top. This way, I can fill it, and the receiver will be able to peek through and see the contents. :)

This box was a breeze to assemble! I cut strips of Jillibean pp, inked them and adhered to the sides of the top of the box. For embellishments, I chose more Jillibean - sticker & trim, some older felt MM flowers and misc. buttons from my stash.

{The Jillibean pp, sticker & trim came from the "Delightful Things" May kit @Citrus Tree Studio.}

So, when you need a little gift of love for someone special, grab a box from Creative Cuts and More! Add some cute embellies and voila! You're set! :) :)

Citrus Tree Studio May Reveal!

I really look forward to CTS kit reveals and I think this May kit - "Delightful Things" is so fun and is definitely one of my favorite kits so far this year!! :) It's filled with Jillibean Soup pp, stickers, corrugated alphas, trims...and Jenni Bowlin vintage buttons. Totally adorable stuff!

The first thing I did with my May kit was make this little wall hanging, using a 6x6" canvas. I covered it w/MM paint, added some cut out birdhouses and Jillibean Soup coordinating stickers to say "welcome friends". Then I covered the entire piece with Tim Holtz crackle paint. {I can't help it...I love the look of a crackle paint finish!} Buttons needed to go on top of the birdhouses. To finish the edges, I covered them w/a black grosgrain ribbon, the exact width of the canvas. It's hanging in my foyer and I love it! :)

My first lo is of my grand niece, Kimberly - "congrats, big girl". Her grandma took these photos and sent them to me via email. I think this piece of Jenni Bowlin "kindergarten" cs works perfectly with this lo. Using a pencil, I wrote "Kimberly graduates. 3 year pre-school. June 2009." on each line of the cs. I really like how the personalized background turned out. :) The coredinations cs in the kit includes this light blue flower cs. If lightly sanded (kit includes sand paper too!), this cute little flower is revealed.

This next lo is my grand niece, Lilyanna and my nephew, Anthony - "play". (Thank heaven for nieces and nephews...or I would never have any cute photos!) ;) They were playing in the bird bath (my MIL had just gotten it out...it was clean!). It was a no-brainer to use this birdhouse Jillibean Soup pp. And, honestly...I adore this wicked cute pp!!! I love that you can cut it up or use a strip or a block. :)

I even ordered an extra "Delightful Things" kit!! LOL! Citrus Tree Studio has a second May kit available - filled with gcd studios "Artsy Urban" pp & embellies. The new gcd studios stuff is so beautiful & this kit comes with a little s*e*i 4x6" album to alter - looks like so much fun!!

Thanks for coming by for my kit reveal. :)

Creative Cuts & More!

I have been asked by the girls at Creative Cuts & More to be a Guest Designer for May. :)

The first piece I worked with is the Flower window w/scalloped edge card. What makes this card so fun is it's already started for you....it arrives full of inspiration! The flower cut out and scalloped edge make for great jumping off points.

~happy birthday~

The Making Memories pp and letters are from my April Citrus Tree Studio kit. I used MM paint on a gcd studios chip butterfly and then sprinkled some glitter on top. The "birthday" stamp is by Stampin' Up. I machine zig zag stitched the pp behind the flower cut out and then added a strip of pp to the top. :)

When you have a minute, you should check out Creative Cuts & More. They sell the most sweet cards, boxes & cs containers, just ready to be made into unique creations. Their different shaped boxes would make the most adorable shower and birthday party favors!!

thanks for coming by and have a nice day,

~patti
