Bad Girls Project 52 - #9

Julie Ann Shanin has posted a new challenge for the Bad Girls Project 52.

I admire the Bad Girls artists so much! This is my first time participating in a challenge there. When Julie Ann posted it...I knew just what I would use.

For this challenge, you need to use wood & wire, and a botanical theme.

I had this old mustard colored cupboard in the attic. It had a door with a wire window. I removed the hinges on the door, sanded it lightly, painted with gesso, swirling my foam brush into the gesso to make a circular pattern on my frame. First experience with gesso...and this stuff is cool.

Next, I painted the gesso with black paint. Then I used a coat of white, and finally I used blue paint. {I wanted the frame to match the blue paint I just put on my scrapbook room walls.} To add a bit of sparkle, using my finger, I swirled star dust stickles.

The pp and chip flowers are g*c*d studios. I {love} this butterfly piece of pp by g.c.d.

I inked the flowers...took some apart, added glitter, buttons & bling.

I was inspired by the quote, and used an old piece of Scenic Route pp, inked. The butterflies are a MS punch, g.c.d. pp that is glittered. Pearls on top are Queen & Co. (at AC Moore for a dollar a package!) Finally, I added some Wright's olive green ric rak to the inside of the frame.

Thanks for the challenge, Bad Girls!!!

SHUT UP. Seriously! My word, Patti-this is utterly fantastical. :) That paper is perfect for this. I knew you would find the right thing to do with those flowers and you have! The gesso circles and the layered paint rock my world! Stellar work, my friend, absolutely stellar!
