winter is a great time to get organized!

I have not scrapped all week because I was busy organizing and purging my craft room. Alright, I admit...I did not remove one piece of patterned paper. Everything else was looked through and 1) put in the pile for my sister Amy, 2) trashed or 3) put neatly back into the ol' stash. I'm happy with my painted blue wall and clean surfaces. I'll give myself a whole 24 hours to keep 'em that way. LOL!!!

So, anyway...Kayla over at Citrus Tree had requested pictures. Here are a couple. My space is actually more like a walk-in closet off of my bedroom. The hubs built it for me five years ago. There are pocket doors on either side and the blue wall is on the opposite side of our fireplace wall.

This is my newly painted wall, Making Memories embellishment center (purchased @Michael's w/a 50% off coupon), and my new "Clip It Up" table top organizer. Note about the Clip it up - this thing is huge and holds a ton of stuff!! I love it!

I bought these unpainted cupboards for cheap. About two years ago, just for fun, I made "pages" for their fronts. Using white painted chipboard letters, I wrote out "Do what" on the left door, and "you love" on the right door front. (That's some old SR pp.) I can change them out when I get tired of them.

My steel workin' pipefitter hubby built me these wood shelves for storage.
He is much more comfortable working with steel than wood, but he can do carpentry when forced to. :)

This is a shot of my fireplace wall taken from my bed.

There you have it. Thanks for coming by to see my photos.
happy last day of January, patti

an altered dollar bag!

There is a challenge at Altered Art Junkies to alter a bag that only costs one dollar.

I saw this bag at our local milk quick stop place and thought, oh what the hell...I've got some cotton quilt squares, I'll see what I can come up with.
I machine stitched down the cotton fabric pieces and then hand stitched the flowers. For the simple flowers, I folded the fabric, ironed it and tied the center w/jute. The felt and button are Fancy Pants stash.

So, here's some pics of the bag. It's big and will hold a ton of stuff when I take Matthew to Aldi's.

oh no...I just had a thought. Will this make me a bag lady? lol!!!

It's a beautiful sunny day. I'm off and out the door for a long walk with the dog.
happy saturday,

remember when you were this old?

-the li'l davis chipboard-

-tiny matt & mia tags-

I made this lo this morning for Tricia's challenge at Citrus Tree Studio. Her challenge was to create a lo about love without using the color red. I {love} this photo of my son, Matthew and his girlfriend, Mia. They've only been dating for a few months, but it feels like love to me. ;) They are so darn sweet together! Matt's a great guy...he deserves a sweet girl. And, yes, of course I'm saying that because I'm the mother. LOL!!

Anyway, I've had this "love" chip piece for forever and a day. I got it from Mary Frances, at SBO and I think it's by li'l Davis. For this lo, I traced it onto some 7 Gypsies pp. Was really wishing I had some glimmer mist...thought it would be cool to try to mist the love piece, but made due with some black stickles.

The rest of the pp used in this kit, came from the August 09 Citrus Tree kit, still on sale. The g*c*d studios green floral print pp ranks up there as one of my all time faves. :)

I hope my friends Marti and Julie Ann come check out this lo!! They've known Matt for a few years now.

I now have some m&ms to eat...so with that, I'll catch ya later.

Candy Shoppe "In with the New challenge"

Today I went birthday shopping with my mom and she bought me some fun stuff.

Home from shopping, I check my blog and see this challenge at Candy Shoppe Designs. This challenge is to use the newest scrapbooking product you have. Alrighty then! I am ready. I throw a quick supper together for the hubs and tell him I'm off to make a card...I'll catch ya later.

My new stuff includes a new Fiskars border punch. And a new Inkadinkado stamp. And some Ranger turquoise embossing glitter.

And, so....I used them all on this new card.

The pp & chip piece are 7 Gypsies, the butterfly is grungeboard and the pearls are Prima.

I totally {love} this stamp! I think I'll use it to alter a notebook to keep in my purse.

Thanks, Candy Shoppe girls, for the fun challenge!!

CPS challenge 150

{friends}

7 Gypsies, Prima and Blue Moon = YUM!!

I think this is such a nice card to mail to a friend.

The sparkly pp is GCD Studios and the "friends" rub is s*e*i.

Thanks for the challenge, CPS girls!

just for fun!

With the CHA getting close, and all of the "I want that" & "I need that" that keeps coming out of my mouth, I thought I really should use up some of the stuff in my stash. So, I made some cards from this Basic Gray chipboard. These dogs totally make me smile!

{I stitched a little felt scarf on this one. Cute, huh?}

{Added tiny black buttons to the watermelon slice.}

{This one got lots of stickles.}

I still have some BG chipboard left over. Want some? Leave me a comment and let me know....I'll see what I can do. :)

Got Ink?

My challenge at Citrus Tree for January is to use some ink.

This technique is not something I think of first...so it was a challenge for me too! Using the beautiful 7 Gypsies pp & the Tim Holtz ink from the CT January kit, I cut and crumpled and roughed up and INKED. So fun!!!

"explore"

Photos are from our fall trip to St. Thomas, USVI. Hope you get a chance this month to participate in any or all of the fun challenges over at CT. :)

Thanks for stopping by,

Citrus Tree Studio {January Kit Reveal}

"Victorian Romance" is the theme of the January kit at CTS.
Let's just say it will make your scrapping easy. It's my favorite CTS kit thus far!
7 Gypsies, Prima, Making Memories...together in one kit.

What's not to love?!

{25 years}

I think I may have used a bit of everything from the kit, plus the add-ons, on this lo. LOL!!

It needed to be special. Tom and I just celebrated our silver anniversary. To add some silvery sparkle to my lo, I embossed the 7 Gypsies letters w/silver embossing powder. I love how they look! I also used the Tim Holtz ink on this lo, inking the Making Memories tape and having fun w/the tickets. I used my "LIFE TIME" stamp on the tickets too, crumpled them...then straightened them out on the lo. The tiny Making Memories stamps can get tucked in anywhere. They are adorable and add a splash of color.

My second lo is of my niece Stephanie, who passed away 4 years ago, and her baby daughter (now 8 years old and so darn sweet!). I could not resist using this heartfelt 7 Gypsies pp! I also love the Creative Imaginations scalloped sheet included in the kit. Go for it...cut it up! A scallop is always such a pretty touch.

{love always}

The 7 Gypsies tags included in the kit inspired me to make this "mother" frame for my mom. I also used a Prima and the beautiful May Arts cream lace trim available for purchase as an add-on. The chipboard letters are also 7 Gypsies and the sweet tiny words are Making Memories. The frame is by Fancy Pants. My mother has this hanging in her livingroom. It looks so pretty with her small print, old fashioned wallpaper showing through.

It's my guess that these Victorian Romance kits are gonna be hot. I hope you'll come on over to CTS and check us out. The gallery is filled with beautiful, romantic, full of love creations.
