Card Patterns ~

Sketch #36

I thought this was a funky feeling sketch and just had to give it a go.

Here's what I came up with.

I started w/Bazzill cardstock and cut & stitched down an acrylic overlay. Next, I covered an old piece of FP chipboard w/new graphic 45 pp (so love it!). Used my new Inkadinkado stamp, stitched on top of the chip piece, and pop dotted a cut out butterfly. The butterfly has 3 Darice beads stitched on.

Thanks for the challenge, Card Patterns' people! :)

2 Sketches 4 You ~

Here's my interpretation of this week's sketch by Kazan.
I used Basic Grey & Scenic Route pps, an Inkadinkado stamp, MM chip circle piece (which has a heart cut out...I covered & stitched some pp on top), BG felt ladybug and Prima pink pearls.
It's a sweet feeling card...and that's just what I was going for.
Thanks for comin' by ~

Okay...seriously, this blog of mine is feeling very lame. And neglected.

In an attempt to get back into it, I'm uploading a "just because" card.

Found the challenge at Catherine's blog here
http://myscrappyfloor.blogspot.com/

My kind of challenge - easy. LOL! {thanks, Catherine!}

I am loving this paper by Graphic 45! Added some primas and a grunge dragon fly sprinkled w/glitter.

So, now I challenge you to make a "just because" card. No requirements...just a card made however you feel like makin' it! Hop on over to Catherine's and link it up there too.

thinking of you card ~

It's been so long since I've posted to my blog...I think I need a tutorial. LOL!

Months ago, I painted and embossed this butterfly. Then it just sat, all alone, waiting.
I made this card this morning. No challenge. No call. Just a card to send to someone.
Feels good.

UseIt! challenge #14

thoughts & prayers ~

This week's UseIt! challenge is brought to us by Joanne.

She is challenging us to use the following: 1) the color pink 2) some scallops 3) a tag.
How easy & fun is that?!

a close up ~

I used a scalloped edge card/envelope set by Martha Stewart. Some old Basic Grey pp, including a tag & some primas w/bling.
For the sentiment, I cut apart a long Creative Cafe sticker.

Thanks for lookin' and thanks to Rae & Joanne!

Use It! Challenge #13 ~

There's a fun challenge over at the UseIt! blog, hosted this week by Carla.

1) Use 4 pps - scraps!, 2) Use die-cuts, 3) Use bling.

Here's my take on Carla's challenge.

I used a bazzill base, Fancy Pants (2), K&Co., Ki Memories pp.
The die cuts are K&Co. and an oldie from 3 Bugs in a Rug.
Prima Say it w/Crystals for the bling. A little inking & paper tearing.
The ribbon is from my stash...taken from a big bag of pieces.

Thanks to Carla & Rae Barthel over @UseIt! Fun stuff!!

2 Sketches 4 You ~

2S4U is having their first Annual Ultimate Card Showdown!

What an exciting time for Laura & Kazan!

Here is my take on the contest sketch.

I used 2 pages from a Cosmo Cricket mini book to make this card.
The weight of it is perfect...not too bulky, but sturdy enough to stand on it's own.

It's hinged together at the top with s*e*i ribbon woven through two eyelets.
The pp is Fancy Pants, ticket is Creative Cafe. I stamped the "in YOU" with some Technique Tuesday letter stamps.
I embossed a brown brad before adding to the Prima.
Bumblebee bling is Basic Gray & ribbon is from my stash.

I had a lot of fun making this card.
Thanks to Laura & Kazan for their rockin' cool 2S4U blog!
