Heidi Van Laar (a favorite card maker of mine) has posted a challenge at the newUse It!challenge blog. She is challenging everyone to use 1) eyelets, 2) something at least one year old, and 3) something w/polka dots on it...just for fun.
Tonight I painted some eyelets. These were originally orange. Bright orange. Once they were dry, I added them to the Scenic Route chipboard. Then I covered them w/glossy accents by Ranger and immediately added the gems to the centers. The cardstock is Kraft & s*e*i, the patterned paper & die cut are also SR. American Crafts makes the thickers & ribbon. There is also a rub on by Autumn Leaves.

Eyelets - check. Polka dots - check. Something a year old - check, check, check. LOL!!
Within ten days, my sister Karin became a grandmother twice!
She already had one grandson, now she has three. I had this Mrs. Grossman's album on hand and thought a "grandson album" would be the perfect thing for her.
I made 2 cards and the album w/this one sheet of Prima pp. Love that!
Over at the site http://useyourstash.blogspot.com/ they're having a challenge to use eyelets on a lay-out. My father-in-law (one of my very favorite people in the whole entire world) had his 77th birthday celebration this past week-end. I had to tell him 3 times to shut his mouth before I could get a good shot of him. {He is a riot!!} Anyway, this is the lo I came up with while using my stash.
{As always, click any image for a larger view.}
I pop dotted the scalloped edge cardstock w/the eyelets and also used my Heidi Swapp distress tool on the edges of cs & pp. (Love that look!) Then, just for a little bit of manly sparkle, I added golden rod stickles on top of the Scenic Route stickers.
My mom and I checked out our new Hobby Lobby last Friday and I spied this trim and had to have it! It reminds me of something you would've seen in the 70's....and those were some fun years! {wink, laugh}
I used some new and some old Basic Gray paper and the rubs are from Creative Imaginations little Sonnet booklet.
This lay-out reminds me of how wonderful it is to be away on vacation w/the hubs.
We were at dinner @a restaurant called "Marandi's". The evening was perfect in every way. We sat at a corner table w/a gorgeous view. The music was soft and the candles provided our light once the sun set. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. Now I have this lay-out to help me always remember this special night.
LOL!! I made this apron at Marti's crop yesterday. While everyone else was scrapping, I was sewing. A special "thank you" to Marti for settin' me up good.
Just for fun, here is a close-up of the button embellished apron pocket. ...and just for the record, I see myself and I see my mother. When did I become an old lady? OMG!!
I sprinkled the sparkles, alright. You should see my scrap table. There is glitter everywhere. LOL! This was a wicked cool challenge, given by Spike, over at the Cuttlebug challenge blogspot.
I used a Zig 2 way glue stick & some Doodlebug glitter on the wrong side of my embossed cardstock to make the front of this card sparklyicious.
That's a Traditions natural gallery bead, on a Heidi Grace stick pin. No sentiment...I just couldn't bring myself to cover up any of this pretty glitter pattern.
This new blog, 365 cards, started their site w/a challenge to make a card storage box. I thought "why not?" While at Walmart this morning, I picked up this shoe storage box for $1.74, thinking it was the perfect size for a card box. I wanted a box w/a lid to keep the dust off of the cards. Really glad I took the time to make this box because...while inserting the dividers w/my cards, I found some I had forgotten I had made. LOL! And, I have realized that I do not need to make any birthday cards for a while!
